In mid-May, in Muong Khuong commune, a vibrant construction atmosphere stretched across many large-scale school construction sites.
From the Muong Khuong High School No. 1 project to the Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are working continuously to bring the projects to completion before the new school year.

On the construction site of the new Muong Khuong High School No. 1, building blocks of classrooms gradually take shape right next to the old school area that has deteriorated but still maintains teaching activities.
The sound of concrete mixers and material cutting machines echoed continuously amidst the busy pace of work of construction teams.
According to records, many rows of houses have completed the rough construction, entering the plastering phase, installing electrical and plumbing systems and completing auxiliary infrastructure.
Workers are working in a rolling manner at many locations to take advantage of favorable weather before the highland rainy season.
The project has a total investment of about 70 billion VND, built synchronously with items such as classroom blocks, administration buildings, internal roads and yards, and technical infrastructure systems.

Not far away, the large construction site of Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School is also entering the acceleration phase. The project started in November 2025 with a total investment of more than 215 billion VND.
Hundreds of workers and many heavy machinery are mobilized to work continuously in shifts. Classrooms, dormitories, administration buildings, subject classrooms and technical infrastructure are being deployed simultaneously.
According to research, the ground leveling work of the project basically reaches the bottom of the foundations of building blocks. Many items have been moved to the wall construction stage, completing electricity and water, constructing roof slabs and installing fire prevention and fighting systems.

Muong Khuong is a border area with many difficulties in Lao Cai province. Over the years, facilities at schools have gradually deteriorated, while the number of students is increasing.
Investing hundreds of billions of VND to build new schools not only solves the problem of lack of classrooms but also opens up hopes for improving the quality of education for students in mountainous areas, especially children of ethnic minorities in border areas.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Phan Van Vinh - official of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower to stick to the progress.
Currently, at the construction site of Muong Khuong High School No. 1, teams maintain about 150 workers constructing according to the 3-shift, 4-shift model. With the boarding school project, at times mobilizing about 350 - 400 workers to work continuously on the construction site," Mr. Vinh informed.

According to Mr. Vinh, the investor is closely coordinating with construction units to prioritize completing the main items before the rainy season.
Many building blocks have now entered the plastering and electrical and plumbing completion stages. We regularly inspect the site, urge progress and supervise quality to ensure the project is safe and technically correct.
The projects are all striving to be completed and handed over by the end of August to be ready to serve the new school year," Mr. Vinh added.
