The Prime Minister agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in Official Dispatch 5152/BLDTBXH-CATLD dated October 22, 2024 and Official Dispatch 5621/BLDTBXH-CATLD dated November 8, 2024 on the plan for Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and some other holidays in 2025.
Civil servants, public employees, and workers will have five days off for the 2025 Lunar New Year, from Monday, January 27, 2025 to Friday, January 31, 2025 (ie December 28, year of the Dragon, to January 3, year of the Snake).
However, in 2025, all 5 days of Lunar New Year 2025 holidays fall on weekdays, so workers will have 2 more days off before the weekend and 2 days off after Tet.
In many provinces and cities, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students is specified in the 2024-2025 school year plan.
In Can Tho, students will have Tet holiday starting from January 22, 2025 (December 23rd of the lunar calendar) to February 2, 2025 (January 5th of the lunar calendar).
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, schools will be off for Lunar New Year from January 25, 2025 (December 26) to February 6, 2025 (January 9).
In Soc Trang, for Lunar New Year only, students will be off from January 27, 2025 to February 8, 2025.
In Ben Tre, the school year break includes holidays and Tet holidays in accordance with the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code and annual guidelines. The Director of the Department of Education and Training is assigned to provide specific guidance on holidays and Tet holidays according to regulations.
Similarly in Dong Nai and Hanoi, the school year plan clearly states that holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code and guidance documents of competent authorities. The detailed schedule will be announced later.
Previously, many provinces and cities announced the Tet holiday schedule.
In Long An province, the Tet holiday is 10 days according to regulations.
In Binh Phuoc, for preschool and primary schools, the total Lunar New Year holiday is 14 days.
For junior high school, high school, and continuing education, the Lunar New Year holiday is 9 days.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Tet holiday is 9 days.
