Many provinces and cities have announced the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule. This holiday schedule is detailed by provinces and cities in the 2024-2025 school year plan framework.
By the end of October, Kon Tum will temporarily be the locality with the longest school break, from January 24 to February 7, 2025. Since February 7 is Friday, students in this province will have two more days off on the weekend, bringing the total number of Tet holidays to 17.
With the same number of days off as 14, Binh Phuoc and Tra Vinh let students take a break from January 20, returning to school on February 2, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Tet holiday for students in Quang Ninh and Soc Trang starts on January 27 and ends on February 9.
In Tay Ninh and Yen Bai, students will have Tet holiday from January 22 to February 4, 2025 (December 23 to January 7). The total number of days off is also 14 days.
The list of provinces giving students a 14-day Tet holiday also includes Lao Cai, from January 24 to February 6, 2025 (December 25 to January 9).
Ba Ria - Vung Tau gives students Tet holiday from January 25 to February 6, 2025 (December 26 to January 9, or 13 days).
Ho Chi Minh City currently gives students the shortest Tet holiday - 9 days, 3-7 days less than every year. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said the reason is that the city does not combine weekends.
