At present, provinces and cities across the country have announced the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
In Lao Cai, the Department of Education and Training said that the total number of re-examination exams this year is 350. Of which, there are 11 exams according to the 2006 program, 339 exams according to the 2018 program.
Notably, after the review, a Biology exam increased from 1.1 to 8.75 points. The Department of Education and Training said that the big difference in exam scores is that candidates wrote the exam code incorrectly on the receipt, wrote incorrectly and recorded incorrectly the exam code incorrectly on the multiple-choice answer form compared to the exam code that was issued.
In addition, a Literature exam increased from 6.75 to 7 points according to regulations, the remaining 348 exams did not have their scores adjusted.
After the review, candidates who are eligible to take the exam, are not subject to disciplinary action, achieve over 1 point in all subjects and have a graduation score of 5 points or more are recognized as high school graduation.
The whole country this year has more than 1.16 million candidates taking the high school graduation exam, with more than 1.12 million students in grade 12 alone. At the end of the 2025 high school graduation exam, statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training show that nationwide, a total of 41 candidates were suspended from the exam for using documents and bringing phones into the exam room, of which 22 students were in the Literature exam, 12 students were in the Math exam and 7 students were in the optional and combined exam.
As of 5:00 p.m. on July 28 - the deadline for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's System, 849,544 candidates have registered for admission, accounting for 73.23%. Thus, more than 310,400 candidates have not registered for university and college admissions in 2025.
For candidates applying for university admission, students should note that from August 16 to August 20, the Ministry of Education and Training will handle admission wishes (virtual exam).
From 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results.
Before 5:30 p.m. on August 30, admitted candidates (including direct admission candidates) must confirm their admission on the system (if they wish to study).
From September 1 to December 2025, schools will consider additional admissions.
