The 2025 International Biology Olympic Competition held in the Philippines, the Vietnamese delegation with 4 participants excellently won 4 medals with 1 Gold medal, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. In which, student Nguyen Huu Thanh, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted won the Silver medal.
At the conference, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City decided to reward a total of 720 million VND to individuals and groups of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted. In which, Nguyen Huu Thanh, a 12th grade student majoring in Biology, won a Silver Medal in the competition, and was awarded 400 million VND; teacher Vu Thi Thu Huyen was awarded 200 million VND, the Board of Directors collective was awarded 40 million VND; the collective of teachers participating in teaching the national team was awarded 80 million VND.
Speaking at the commendation ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, congratulated Nguyen Huu Thanh on his outstanding achievements, and acknowledged the dedication and steadfast professionalism of the teachers, especially the team of teachers at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted and the teachers who coached the national team. Nguyen Huu Thanh's silver medal contributed to putting Vietnam in the group of 10 countries with the highest scores in this year's exam. This is an extremely impressive achievement, a vivid testament to the quality of education and training in Hai Phong and shows the city's students' increasingly strong ability to integrate internationally.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, sectors, unions and the whole society to continue to pay due attention to education and training, invest in developing high-quality human resources; create favorable conditions for each student to have the opportunity to promote their capacity and qualities, become a global citizen, and make a worthy contribution to the cause of building Hai Phong city into a modern, smart and civilized city.
