Listen to the battlefield at a gratitude meal
On July 25, the meal at Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung's house (residing in Gia Vien ward, a war invalid, a resistance fighter infected with toxic chemicals) was more special than ever. The meal was prepared hotly and fully by the Youth Union in coordination with the Ward Women's Union with all the gratitude for those with meritorious services. The stories about the heroic years of the war against American imperialism were recounted by Mr. Tung at the meal with emotion and pride. Mr. Tung is happy that today's young generation, in addition to studying, practicing, and contributing to building the homeland, still shows deep gratitude to the previous generation.
Previously, on July 22, the Tan An Commune Youth Union organized the program "ckenight of gratitude - vun to build affection" at the family of war invalid Hoang Cong Dien. In the cozy atmosphere, stories of soldier life and battlefield memories are shared on the intimate meal tray, helping today's generation to appreciate the sacrifices of their father's generation.

According to information from the Hai Phong City Youth Union, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025), the Youth Union of communes, wards and special zones in the city simultaneously organized a meal of gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids' families, martyrs' families, policy families, and meritorious people, with a total of 138 meals. This is an activity demonstrating the fine tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source, repay gratitude" of the nation; reminding today's generation about the great contributions and silent sacrifices of generations of ancestors, who have shed blood and bones to achieve peace and independence as today.
Many meaningful gratitude activities
In addition to the "Thanksgiving Meal" program, with their deep respect and gratitude, since the first days of July, forums, youth union activities, and journeys to traditional education at red addresses have been organized enthusiastically with emotion and pride; restoration activities, creating clean and beautiful landscapes at works commemorating martyrs have been organized by many Youth Union institutions. In particular, on July 20, in response to "National Green Sunday" launched by the Central Youth Union, the City Youth Union at all levels organized activities to clean up, restore, and embellish cemeteries and martyrs' graves. The delegations at all levels organized visits, encouragement, and presented 2,455 gifts to policy families and people with meritorious services with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND; organized 35 health examination and consultation programs for nearly 1,750 people with meritorious services to the revolution.

The Hai Phong City Youth Union and the grassroots youth union organized the program "Rose for the Tombs of Martyrs" with the participation of more than 35,000 union members and children. The candle burning ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs will be held simultaneously on the evening of July 26 with the gesture "Each candle lights up - A thousand hearts of gratitude" at 100% of Cemeteries and Martyrs Monuments in the city.
Activities towards the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day show gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution of Hai Phong City's youth. This is also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, continuing the heroic past of the previous generation to constantly strive, practice, and contribute to building a rich homeland and beautiful country.
