On the afternoon of May 14, at a regular press conference of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak Province responded to the information that many 12th graders were forced to write applications for school dismissal and reserve their results.
Mr. Do Tuong Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province informed immediately after the press reported, the unit established a verification team to verify the incident and the results showed that the contents reported by the newspaper were true.
The verification team clarified that in the 2024-2025 school year, 16 12th grade students of Cao Ba Quat High School (Buon Ma Thuot city) will be absent from school or have their academic results reserved.
Of which, 5 students have submitted applications to reserve their academic results. However, the process of handling school days off and retaining students' results at school is not in accordance with the charter of the high school and current regulations.
There is no regulation on reserving students' learning outcomes. Thus, the homeroom teacher's advisor for students writing a request for reservation of learning outcomes, thereby leading to students writing a request for reservation of learning outcomes and dropping out of school is not in accordance with regulations.
"On the morning of April 13, the department had an interview with the Ministry of Education and Training and registered a high school graduation exam account for all 12th graders at Cao Ba Quat High School.
This includes those who have dropped out of school or asked to reserve their results. This move ensures that in the coming time, any students who are eligible and apply to re-study will have to take the graduation exam" - Mr. Hiep added.
