On October 5, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Thanh Hoa province said that as of October 3, there were still 47 educational institutions in the whole province that were severely damaged after floods and could not resume operations.

"During the 2 weekends (October 4 and 5), we have directed units and educational institutions to mobilize forces, coordinate with authorities to carry out repairs and cleanup at flooded and severely damaged schools. With the sunny weather, the water has receded, it is expected that by tomorrow (October 6), all schools will welcome students back to class" - a representative of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training informed.
Also according to the representative of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, to proactively respond to storm No. 11, the department has sent an official dispatch to localities and educational institutions in the whole province requesting urgent implementation of preventive and control measures.
Accordingly, the Director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards; heads of affiliated units to regularly monitor the developments of storm No. 11, organize 24/7 duty; maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.

Units need to quickly develop a plan to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school facilities; move assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, and records to safe places, minimizing damage caused by storm No. 11.
The Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training also requested Party committees, authorities of communes, wards and educational institutions to continue to pay attention, direct and mobilize resources to soon complete the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and floods. Absolutely do not let students in damaged areas lack schools, classes, books, and school supplies.
