The Finance Minister said GDP growth in the third quarter is estimated at 8.2% over the same period - the highest growth rate in the same period since 2011.

On October 5, speaking at the regular Government meeting in September 2025, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang said that in the third quarter alone, our country had to suffer 8 storms; September alone was 4 consecutive major storms, especially storm No. 10 with very strong winds, wide range of influence, long storm stay, accompanied by heavy rain, caused heavy damage, the total estimated damage was not complete, over 16.5 trillion VND.

The socio-economic situation in the first 9 months continued to grow positively, achieving many important, outstanding and comprehensive results.

Minister Nguyen Van Thang said that GDP growth in the third quarter is estimated at 8.2% over the same period. If 2022 is excluded with a growth rate recovering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the highest growth rate in the same period since 2011.

GDP growth in the first 9 months reached 7.84% over the same period, closely following the whole year's growth scenario of 8% when synchronously implementing the set solutions.

The number of newly registered and returning to operation enterprises in September reached 27,500 enterprises, an increase of 55.6% over the same period; In the first 9 months, it reached over 231,300 enterprises, an increase of 26.4%, the total additional capital of operating enterprises was 3.3 million billion VND, an increase of 186.5%.

CPI in September increased by 3.38% over the same period, 9 months increased by 3.27%; control supply and prices well in areas affected by natural disasters. Credit growth is high, new lending interest rates continue to decrease.

The stock market and corporate bonds continue to grow vibrantly. State budget revenue (NSNN) in the first 9 months reached 1.92 million billion VND, equal to 97.9% of the estimate, up 30.5% over the same period.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Finance will note and propose a number of groups of tasks.

First, carefully and thoroughly prepare draft laws, resolutions, and content to submit to the National Assembly at the 10th Session; do a good job of receiving, explaining, creating high consensus, and organizing implementation immediately after being approved by the National Assembly.

Second, resolutely and effectively implement Conclusion 195, conclusions and instructions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Steering Committee, the Government, the Prime Minister on the arrangement of the apparatus, public service units, state-owned enterprises, implementing the 2-level local government model, especially tasks and tasks with a completion date in October.

Third, promote exports and develop trade harmoniously and sustainably.

Fourth, continue to improve institutions, laws, and reform administrative procedures.

Fifth, promote investment, stimulate consumption and strongly develop new growth drivers, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation.

At the same time, continue to focus on maintaining macroeconomic stability; developing culture and society, preventing natural disasters, protecting the environment; promoting information and communication, improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work.
