According to the 2026 enrollment regulations, candidates can register a maximum of 15 aspirations. If registering for admission to teacher training majors, candidates must arrange these aspirations in the top 5 positions, in order from 1 to 5. In which, aspiration 1 is the choice of major and school that candidates desire most. Once admitted in one aspiration, candidates will not be considered for subsequent aspirations.
This regulation makes the selection and arrangement of aspirations for the Pedagogy major group more important, requiring candidates to consider carefully before registering.
Nguyen Minh Anh - a 12th grade student in Ho Chi Minh City - said that the new regulations require candidates to learn more carefully when they want to register for admission to pedagogical majors.
I plan to register for the English Pedagogy major, but with the regulation that the first 5 aspirations must be included, I have to consider very carefully because if the arrangement is not reasonable, it may affect my chances of being admitted to other majors. I also spent a lot of time learning about the benchmark scores of previous years and job opportunities to make a suitable choice," Minh Anh shared.
Dr. Pham Tan Ha - Director of the Admissions Counseling Center of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) - assessed that limiting partly reflects the level of aspirations of candidates for the major, especially teacher training majors.
This regulation is also aimed at encouraging candidates to have a clear orientation and truly want to pursue the teaching profession.
Usually, candidates will put their most anticipated majors at the top. For the pedagogy major, this is even more important because the school wants to recruit students who are truly dedicated to the profession," Mr. Ha shared.
According to him, candidates should clearly identify training majors such as Primary Education, Preschool Pedagogy or subject-specific Pedagogy majors, instead of registering across many different directions.
To choose a suitable major, Dr. Pham Tan Ha recommends that candidates answer three important questions: what do you like, are you capable enough to pursue it and is society in need of that major.
These three factors are like a directional triangle. When you answer those questions, you will better define the path you want to pursue," he said.
In addition, Dr. Ha advised candidates to refer to the benchmark scores of the major and school in the last 2-3 years to have more basis when arranging aspirations. However, this is just reference information, the most important thing is still to clearly identify your desires and abilities.
