During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, public teachers in Ho Chi Minh City will receive about 4 main amounts of money, including: additional income according to Resolution 27 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; bonuses according to Decree 73; Tet gifts and surplus income/savings fund of each school.
On February 12, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Principal of Binh Tho Secondary School (Thu Duc ward) said that the school has completed the disbursement of year-end funds for teachers.
From December 2025, teachers began to receive payments and so far the payment has been completed. In which, each senior teacher who excellently completes their tasks can receive a total of over 80 million VND; newly graduated teachers also receive about 40-50 million VND," Ms. Anh Thu said.
Mr. Dinh Phu Cuong - Principal of Nguyen Van Luong Secondary School (Binh Phu ward) said that during the 2026 Lunar New Year with items such as Decree 73; Increased income in the 4th quarter, savings... senior teachers at the school will receive about 70-80 million VND.
According to Mr. Cuong, throughout the school year, the school's teaching council has implemented the policy of saving spending and limiting unnecessary expenses to create year-end income for teachers.
According to Resolution 27/2025/NQ-HĐND of Ho Chi Minh City, the maximum additional income expenditure level is 1.8 times the salary level according to rank, grade, position for cadres, civil servants, public employees, non-specialized personnel and some contract subjects; the remaining subjects are allowed to spend a maximum of 3 million VND/person/month.
Decree 73 stipulates the bonus regime based on outstanding work achievements and the results of annual task completion assessment and classification.
The bonus fund is determined by 10% of the total salary fund (excluding allowances) according to the position, title, rank, and grade of the subjects on the payroll list of the unit.
Tet gifts: In 2026, each public teacher in Ho Chi Minh City will receive 2 million VND (in 2025 it is 1.8 million VND).
