According to information from the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, today (September 16), 521 schools in the province resumed teaching. Units under the Department, vocational education and continuing education centers continue to teach as usual.
As for Bat Xat Secondary and High School, according to Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, due to the lack of safety conditions, students are temporarily allowed to stay home from school until further notice.
On the same day, 13/68 schools in Bao Yen district organized for students to go to school.
The reason many schools have not been able to welcome students back to class is because many rural roads have been cut off, so students have not been able to get to school.
In addition, some schools and school locations do not have adequate facilities; many families of students and teachers face difficulties in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.
Therefore, by September 23, 100% of schools in Bao Yen district will resume teaching.
Previously, to ensure the safety of educational facilities, the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province requested units to organize a review of all school facilities; promptly report to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities where there are potential risks of insecurity so that plans can be made before welcoming students back to school.
At the same time, mobilize forces to organize cleaning and repair of schools, especially disinfecting boarding and semi-boarding areas... to ensure safety.
In Bac Ha, Simacai, Bat Xat, and Bao Yen districts, some educational facilities are still unsafe due to the consequences of storms and floods, so students must stay home to continue cleaning and repairing classrooms.
In addition, units continue to arrange 24/7 staff to promptly handle situations arising from post-storm developments; organize propaganda to teachers and students to absolutely not be subjective in storm and flood prevention.
