She is currently Deputy Director of the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, Ministry of Health.
Ms. Trinh Thi Dieu Thuong graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, majoring in Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City (2005). Four years later, she received her master's degree. In 2014, she received her doctorate in the same major at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2018, Ms. Thuong was appointed to the position of Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine.
The female professor has worked in many positions. In 2006, she became a lecturer in the Acupuncture Department at the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City. She is also a treating physician at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Campus 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
From 2015 to August 2023, she held the position of Head of the Acupuncture Department, Faculty of Traditional Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City and Head of Facility 3, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
After that, Ms. Thuong was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, Ministry of Health.
Professor Thuong has won the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots and ministerial levels for many years. She has also received many certificates of merit from the Minister of Health, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City over the years and especially the certificate of merit from the Prime Minister in 2021.
In her research, the female professor has published 116 scientific articles, including 23 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; chaired and completed 3 scientific research topics, including 2 provincial-level topics and 1 city-level topic.
Ms. Thuong has also published 14 books for training from university level and above, including 11 textbooks, 2 reference books and 1 monograph.
In 2024, a total of 45 professor candidates and 570 associate professor candidates were recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting the title standards. Of these, 7 are female professors. The youngest female professor candidate was born in 1980 (44 years old), from the medical field.
This year, the medical industry alone has 3 new professors and 68 new professors.
