On the afternoon of August 22, the leader of Khanh Hoa University announced that he had issued a disciplinary decision to force a 22-year-old female student majoring in Mathematical Pedagogy to drop out of school for using a fake TOEIC foreign language certificate to submit for graduation.
According to the decision, in addition to being forced to drop out of school, this female student must also return the school's borrowed assets and compensate for training costs for the period 2021 - 2025, with an amount of 20 million VND.
Previously, in May 2025, during the process of receiving graduation applications, the school required students to submit all certificates according to regulations, including foreign language output standards equivalent to level B2.
Through the examination process and comparison with the certificate issuing unit, the school discovered that the female student had submitted a fake TOEIC certificate.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa University, the school has recently identified a problem of using fake certificates a lot.
Therefore, the school verifies the accuracy of all outside certificates submitted by students.
In the case of the student who was recently disciplined above, the certificate issuer issued a written response to the school with the content of the TOEIC certificate as fake.
From there, the school will take disciplinary action against a female student majoring in Mathematical Education.
