50% allowance is applied to teachers directly teaching at some institutions

Teachers who directly teach at special educational institutions or specialized schools will receive a 50% allowance.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training issued Official Letter No. 1678/SGDDT-TCCB on the approval of preferential allowances for teachers who are directly teaching in public educational institutions.

Teachers directly teaching at the school for physical education and sports will receive a 50% allowance according to the new regulations. This is one of the notable contents in Official Letter 1678/SGDDT-TCCB in 2025 of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City on the approval of preferential allowances for teachers in public educational institutions in the 2025-2026 school year.

According to Official Dispatch 1678 preferential allowances are applied to each type of school, specifically:

Specialized school/unit

Teachers teaching specialized classes; teachers at schools and classes for the disabled; teachers at ethnic minority boarding schools are entitled to a 70% allowance.

Teachers teaching at the school of physical education and sports are entitled to a 50% allowance.

Teachers teaching non-professional classes at specialized schools are entitled to a 30% allowance.

Not-professional school but has specialized classes

Teachers teaching specialized subjects of specialized classes are entitled to a 70% allowance.

Teachers teaching non-professional classes are entitled to a 30% allowance.

Thus, depending on the characteristics of the educational institution and the subject, the allowance for teachers directly teaching is allocated from 30% to 70%. Of which, the 50% allowance is specifically applied to teachers of sports medicine schools.

The preferential allowance policy aims to recognize the efforts and contributions of teachers in specific teaching environments, which require large investments in expertise, time and responsibility. Applying allowances for each subject not only contributes to improving teachers' income but also encourages them to stay in the profession for a long time, especially in specialized facilities or disadvantaged areas.

According to the Department of Education and Training, the implementation of preferential allowances in the 2025-2026 school year is an important step to create more motivation, while ensuring fairness among groups of teachers directly teaching in the public education system.
