On January 17, speaking with reporters, Ms. Le Hong Anh (37 years old, residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city, Nghe An) whose son is in grade 9 said that through Lao Dong newspaper, she had learned that in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Foreign Language is the third subject (along with Math and Literature).
“This information makes me feel secure and happy because my child knows the exam subjects in advance so he can actively focus on studying and reviewing for the exam, without worrying or being nervous like before. Announcing the exam subjects early will create conditions for parents to feel secure, proactive, and reduce the burden in the process of reviewing for the 10th grade exam,” Ms. Hong Anh shared.
Many other parents expressed similar feelings. Mr. Hoang Manh Chien, 35 years old, residing in Do Luong district, Nghe An province shared: “In previous years, parents were worried and anxious, waiting for the education sector to announce the remaining subjects (besides Math and Literature) in the 10th grade entrance exam. Because this is a very important exam, students are afraid of not passing, so they have to review many subjects, leading to hardship and overload. This year, the education sector announced the information early like this, creating many favorable conditions for students.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Principal of Dang Thai Mai Secondary School (Vinh City) said that the school always focuses on improving the quality of comprehensive education, the school's students' results in the survey of all subjects always lead the city's overall rankings, however, early announcement of information about the third exam subject will create favorable conditions for the school and students.
“In my opinion, choosing Math – Literature – Foreign Language (English) as the 3 entrance exams for grade 10 is appropriate. Students focusing on studying foreign languages will create favorable conditions for them to develop and integrate,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien.
As Lao Dong reported, on January 15, informing Lao Dong newspaper reporters, Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh said that in the enrollment plan for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year, Nghe An will take exams in 3 subjects: Literature - Math - Foreign Language.
"Choosing Foreign Language as the third exam subject aims to promote the foreign language learning movement in schools and improve the quality of this subject" - Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said.
