On March 22, International Primary School (Dak Lak province) said that the Representative Board of the Parents' Association and a group of parents participating in the kitchen inspection had a report related to images of semi-boarding meals spreading on social networks, causing controversy in public opinion.
According to the report, on March 18, the group of parents directly checked the kitchen and took pictures of the students' food trays when they were not finished (the dishes were not drizzled with sauce, not divided enough portions).
These images were then posted on social networks with content reflecting incomplete, unobjective, and unverified information, leading to misunderstandings about the quality of meals.
Parents said that the school's menu is built daily; there are rich meals, and simpler meals, but all are aimed at balancing nutrition, suitable for students.
At the same time, the group of parents acknowledged that the use of images when the meal was not completed without clarifying the context has caused misunderstanding in public opinion.
Posting unverified information is imprudent, not objective, causing unintended negative impacts.
Parent representatives have seriously learned from experience and committed to closely coordinate with the school in providing and exchanging official information.
As Lao Dong newspaper has reported, some parents whose children are studying at the school reflect that lunch meals are not guaranteed nutrition for students.
School leaders also said that currently many types of food, including vegetables, must have full invoices, incurring additional costs. Due to the limited contribution level, meal norms are built correspondingly, leading to a menu that cannot be more diverse.
When there is a complaint, the school also holds a meeting of parents' representatives of the classes; at the same time, parents are invited to the school to conduct surprise inspections of the unit's kitchen at any time.
