On August 25, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Quang Tri province said that after receiving feedback on the situation that many parents find it difficult to buy enough textbooks before the new school year, the Department continues to direct relevant units to review the supply.
According to a representative of the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training, Vietnam Education Publishing House has connected with companies and units providing books and school equipment in localities to organize the distribution of textbooks. These units also coordinate with schools to bring books to students.
Notably, the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training guides parents if they have not bought books, they can contact the principal of the school where their child studies directly to register.
Parents who need to buy books can register at the school, the school will coordinate with the supplier to bring books to students" - a representative of Quang Tri Department of Education and Training said.
According to a representative of the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training, registration does not only apply to parents who need to buy a whole set of textbooks. In case they have bought most of the books but are still short of one or several titles, parents can still contact the principal for support in supplementary registration.
Representatives of the Department emphasized that the school only acts as a focal point connecting parents with the supplier, not benefiting from the distribution of textbooks.
Quang Tri Department of Education and Training further informed that the request for schools to coordinate with issuing units to grasp the needs of students for textbooks has been implemented in recent years. After Lao Dong Newspaper reflected the situation of parents having difficulty buying enough books at some points of sale, the Department continued to assign specialized departments to re-examine the implementation.
According to a representative of the Department, this week, the specialized unit will review the supply situation and coordination between schools and distributors to ensure that students have enough books to serve the new school year.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at some bookstores in Dong Hoi ward (Quang Tri), many textbooks for grades have run out or are in small quantities. Some parents have to find them at many points but still do not have enough sets as the 2026 - 2027 school year is approaching.
