On March 19, Quang Tri province held a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony for 11 multi-level ethnic minority boarding school projects in border communes in the area.
The groundbreaking ceremony was organized in the form of a live television bridge, connecting 11 schools throughout the province. The main bridge point is located in Kim Ngan commune; the remaining bridge points include communes: Tuyen Lam, Kim Phu, Kim Dien, Truong Son, La Lay, Ta Rut, Huong Lap, Lao Bao, A Doi and Lia.
The investment in building educational institutions aims to complete the school network, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security in border areas.

According to leaders of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, the locality will invest in upgrading and expanding 2 schools; building 9 new schools in Tuyen Lam, Kim Ngan, Kim Dien, Truong Son, La Lay, Ta Rut, Huong Lap, Lao Bao, A Doi and Lia communes. The total scale of the projects includes 291 classrooms with nearly 9,970 students.
To ensure the scale and quality of the project, the total investment of 11 projects is nearly 2,240 billion VND.
In which, some schools with large investments include: Lao Bao Primary and Secondary Boarding School (254 billion VND); Ta Rut Primary and Secondary Boarding School (272 billion VND); A Doi Primary and Secondary Boarding School (315 billion VND); Lia Primary and Secondary Boarding School (291 billion VND).
The two schools invested in upgrading and expanding are Tuyen Lam Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Tuyen Lam commune) and Kim Ngan Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Kim Ngan commune).
Previously, in 2025, Quang Tri province started construction of 4 inter-level ethnic minority boarding schools in 4 border communes Dakrong, Huong Phung, Dan Hoa, Thuong Trach. The construction progress of 4 schools is guaranteed, expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.
