On the afternoon of July 15, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held a regular press conference, which provided information on handling violations of regulations at the 2026 High School Graduation Exam.
Mr. Le Dinh Thuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province said that the exam takes place in two days, June 11 and 12.
On June 13, information appeared on social network Facebook reflecting that at Ngo Gia Tu High School Exam Point, a candidate in exam room No. 0577 used "lifebuoys" and a phone during the optional exam.
According to the reflected content, the invigilator discovered and confiscated these items but still let the candidate continue to take the next elective subject exam without making a record of handling, raising suspicion of covering up.
Immediately after receiving the information, the education sector held an emergency meeting and conducted verification at the exam site after the exam ended.
Through review, the Department of Education and Training determined that the candidate only brought a phone into the exam room and was discovered and confiscated by the invigilator; did not bring documents into the exam room as information spread on social networks.
According to Mr. Thuan, the exam grading council canceled the exam results of this candidate due to violating the exam regulations.
Explaining the failure to handle the responsibilities of related individuals, Mr. Thuan said that at the time of discovering the incident, the education sector was conducting exam marking work and it was not until July 14 that the re-marking and adjustment of scores for eligible exam papers were completed.
Therefore, the consideration of disciplinary action, criticism or warning of relevant officials and invigilators at Ngo Gia Tu High School Exam Point has not been implemented.
According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training, in the coming time, the unit will continue to consider and handle relevant cases according to regulations.
Mr. Thuan also affirmed that after reviewing the entire 2026 high school graduation exam in the province, the Department did not record any signs of abnormality, fraud, change of scores or unreasonable score differentiation.
Concluding this content at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that when violations have been identified, it is necessary to handle the responsibilities of the teachers and invigilators involved, and at the same time inform the press agencies of the handling results.
