On July 8, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province said that it had sent a document to the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones requesting coordination to review the scale of the network of public educational institutions in the area.
The review results will be the basis for developing a project to arrange the school network in accordance with the two-level local government model.
This review applies to public kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools, including inter-level primary and secondary schools.
According to the Department of Education and Training, localities not only propose plans to consolidate and merge schools, but also must develop plans to arrange staff, teachers, and staff and handle facilities after arrangement, ensuring that teaching and learning activities are not interrupted.
Along with that, the arrangement must be linked to restructuring the staff, improving the management capacity and operational efficiency of educational institutions after reorganization.
Previously, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Finance, relevant departments and branches and People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to urgently implement the arrangement of the network of public preschool, general and continuing education institutions.
At the end of June 2026, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a plan to promote the arrangement of the public school network nationwide, including piloting a number of organizational models for preschool, general education and continuing education institutions.
Lam Dong is one of the localities selected to participate in the pilot program.
