The Ministry of Education and Training on September 15 said it is drafting a plan to review and adjust the general education program and textbooks in the direction of reducing academia, increasing practice and experience; strengthening comprehensive education and updating new requirements.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that it regularly monitors and grasps information from practice; receives opinions from experts, management officials, teachers, students, parents and press agencies, and at the same time directs specialized agencies to review the content and materials in textbooks that are reflected as inappropriate.
The Ministry also affirmed the view of listening, being receptive but scientific, cautious and responsible. All contents considered for adjustment must be evaluated on a scientific, professional basis, according to legal regulations and the requirements of the general education program; ensuring standards, education, inheritance and stability.
For contents that are identified through review as inappropriate, the Ministry will direct research and handling according to the correct procedures and authority.
Also according to the Ministry of Education and Training, the review and adjustment are carried out comprehensively, with a roadmap, ensuring the quality of education, without interrupting or causing unnecessary disruptions to teaching and learning activities.
Previously, in Decision No. 2623/QD-BGDDT promulgating key tasks and solutions for the 2026-2027 school year of the education sector, the Ministry of Education and Training emphasized the content: "Synchronously amend the education program and textbooks to meet new requirements".
