On the morning of July 17, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the 27th Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress elected a new Party Executive Committee of 27 personnel.
Speaking at the congress, the Prime Minister emphasized that the current world situation is changing rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably, so VNA, with its functions, tasks and powers, must have a way of responding, adapting promptly, flexibly and appropriately to the situation.
The Prime Minister noted that VNA must change awareness, thinking, organization of operations and work, according to appropriate functions, tasks and powers when the situation changes.
The head of the Government emphasized that VNA is the main and legitimate information agency of the Party and State, so it is necessary to grasp the situation, analyze, evaluate, and reflect the situation honestly and objectively; contributing to the implementation of two strategic tasks: building and defending the Fatherland.
At the same time, grasp the situation and propose solutions, do not let the Party and State be passive or surprised in strategic terms related to the scope of functions and tasks of VNA.
The Prime Minister requested the VNA Party Committee and those who work in VNA newspapers to promote the heroic tradition of the 3-time Heroic Agency, maintain solidarity and unity within the Party, in leadership, direction and management according to the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; and promote democracy.
Continue to innovate thinking, vision, creativity in programs and actions, with a vision, wide vision, deep thinking, great action, drastic action, worthy of the trust of the Party, the support of the people and the traditions of previous generations.
The Prime Minister pointed out that VNA must be a pioneer, exemplary, and take the lead in the Party's ideological front; information, communication, and protection of the Party's ideological foundation; and protection of the rights and interests of the country and people.
Along with that, pioneering in developing, applying science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and international integration, integrating with the revolutionary cause of the Party and people, in which effectively implementing the 4 Resolutions of the Politburo - "four pillars" and in the future Resolutions on health, culture and education will be issued by the Politburo.
The Prime Minister requested the Party Committee of VNA and VNA to creatively apply the Party's guidelines and policies, building a Party organization and a VNA management apparatus in new conditions.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that after this Congress, the Party Committee of VNA and VNA will have innovation in thinking, vision, action program, with new, practical, and effective fighting spirit to serve the cause of the Party, State and people.
Continue to maintain solidarity and unity; improve leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and Party members so that VNA can record more proud new achievements every day.
