In September 2026, Nha Trang ward will merge 13 primary schools in the area and establish Nha Trang Primary School.
According to the new model, the school has 1 main school, 12 branches and 5 school sites, with 287 classes, 10,565 students and 524 management staff, teachers, and staff.
Arranging schools, putting students at the center
According to the Nha Trang ward government, after the first days of operation, the new school model is basically stable and does not cause much disruption.
Regarding concerns related to the merger of 13 primary schools into one school with a scale of 287 classes, more than 10,500 students, leaders of Nha Trang Ward Party Committee shared some with Lao Dong Newspaper.
Accordingly, the locality is implementing the arrangement of public schools according to the policy and orientation of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to the leader of the Nha Trang Ward Party Committee, the arrangement mainly changes management personnel. For 12 branches, each branch has a vice principal in charge.
These people were previously principals at schools in the area, so they are well aware of the teaching staff as well as the actual situation at the grassroots level.
Leaders of the Nha Trang Ward Party Committee said that for many years, some elementary schools in the central area of Nha Trang such as Phuoc Tien Primary School, Loc Tho Primary School... have always been prioritized by parents to send their children to school.
Even in some schools that parents are interested in, the situation of running schools and classes has appeared.
After the arrangement, the locality expects this situation to be limited, because the operation of educational institutions will be organized according to a unified management model.
Investment in facilities, teaching equipment as well as teaching and learning plans will be implemented in a synchronous direction.
The education sector in Nha Trang will also continue to build teaching and learning models in the direction of "taking students as the center".
Regarding the selection of principals of public educational institutions, leaders of the Nha Trang Ward Party Committee said that the locality selects cadres with outstanding capacity and experience at schools in the area to carry out management work.
The arrangement of personnel in this direction aims to limit disruption, create closeness and stability in the operation of branches, and at the same time avoid the need for officials and teachers to be transferred back and forth between schools.
Monitoring and removing difficulties for teachers
Mr. Huynh Quang Tu - Vice Chairman of Nha Trang Ward People's Committee - said that the ward will proactively stick to, direct and support the school in the process of operating the new model.
According to Mr. Tu, the locality will monitor the school's activities to promptly remove difficulties and create conditions for teachers to feel secure in their work.
Previously, Nha Trang ward also proactively surveyed opinions and paid attention to the thoughts and aspirations of officials and teachers in order to create stability in the arrangement process.
Relevant units will update information into the software for the School Board of Directors to manage generally. There is also a team to support management work at the branches.
Nha Trang Primary School was established on the basis of merging 13 schools including: Loc Tho Primary School, Phuoc Hoa 2 Primary School, Tan Lap 1 Primary School, Tan Lap 2 Primary School, Phuoc Tan Primary School, Van Thanh Primary School, Phuoc Tien Primary School, Van Thang Primary School, Phuoc Hoa 1 Primary School, Vinh Nguyen 3 Primary School, Xuong Xuan Primary School, Vinh Nguyen 1 Primary School and Vinh Nguyen 2 Primary School.
