The father of student D. (Vinh Long) is a severely disabled person due to a work accident, and is receiving monthly allowances.
So, can student D. who is studying at a public university have tuition reductions?
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training answers as follows:
Clause 2, Article 16 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP dated September 3, 2025 of the Government stipulating tuition fees policies, tuition fee exemption, reduction, support, tuition fee support and service prices in the field of education and training stipulates that subjects eligible for a 50% tuition fee reduction include:
Students in vocational education institutions and higher education institutions whose parents have had labor accidents or occupational diseases are entitled to regular allowances.
Thus, in the case of student D., it is proposed that students submit complete application dossiers for tuition fee reduction under the category of parents who have had labor accidents or occupational diseases issued by the social insurance agency to educational institutions according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 18 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP to be considered for policy benefits.
