Early in the morning of January 6, a fairly thick layer of frost appeared on Phia Oac peak, Thanh Cong commune, Cao Bang province.
According to information from an official working at the FM broadcasting station of Voice of Vietnam (VNA) on Phia Oac peak, this ice layer began to form in the early morning and gradually dissipated around the early morning of January 6.
The thin ice appeared early this morning, and it is still there now. The temperature at the time the ice appeared was about -3 degrees Celsius," the official said.

Some images recorded at the scene show ice clinging to high branches and some roadside shrubs, creating a fascinating natural scene in the harsh winter.
Phia Oac, with an altitude of 1,931 meters above sea level, is likened to the "roof" west of Cao Bang province. This is one of the places with a special climate, often recording frost and sometimes snow in winter.

According to forecasts, in the coming days, the temperature in the Cao Bang area may continue to drop deeply, leading to the risk of more frost waves appearing in high mountainous areas.
Faced with this situation, functional sectors have issued recommendations and called on people to proactively implement measures to protect crops and livestock to limit damage caused by extreme weather.
