The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province to preside over and coordinate with relevant units, based on the content of press reports, to urgently inspect and promptly rectify the situation of school transfers.
Previously, public opinion reflected that the 2024-2025 school year had just begun, but in Thanh Hoa, there were many places where students requested to transfer schools. Most of the transfers were not legitimate according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and some students even had lower entrance scores than the scores of the school they were transferring to.
Accordingly, schools located in Thanh Hoa City such as Dao Duy Tu High School, Ham Rong High School, Nguyen Trai High School are considered good quality schools, the entrance exam scores are always very high, so students must have good academic performance to compete for admission to these schools.
Many families have "dodged" their children's entrance exams to these top schools by taking exams at district schools with low entrance scores, then the families ask for their children to transfer to good quality schools in the city without having to compete in entrance exams.
Responding to this issue, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province confirmed that there was a case of students transferring schools and affirmed that the transfer was decided by the leaders of the two schools. The Department requested a report and initials to control the transfer, the Department did not force or determine that the school had to accept this or that case and there was no negative incident.
