On July 26, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee informed that Mr. Le Quang Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee signed a decision to award Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 56 students and teachers with outstanding achievements at national-level competitions and sports festivals in the 2025-2026 school year.
Among them, 4 students and 2 teachers were proposed for Certificates of Merit for their outstanding achievements at the National Science and Technology Research Competition for secondary and high school students in the 2025-2026 school year.
Prominent is the project "Designing, synthesizing and researching the activity of inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) to orient the search for drugs to treat Alzheimer's disease" by two students of Lam Son High School for the Gifted.
The project was implemented by Mai Hoang Dang Son, 12th grade specialized in Mathematics 2, and Lai Quoc Khanh, 12th grade specialized in Mathematics 1, under the guidance of teacher Vu Chi Tuan, who won the second national prize in the field of Biochemistry.
The project focuses on designing, synthesizing and researching the ability to inhibit the enzyme AChE, thereby orienting the search for compounds with potential to support the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The project is considered to be new, applicable and meaningful in the field of biomedicine.
In the field of Mechanical Engineering, the project "Design and manufacture of multi-functional agricultural robots for sowing - spraying - watering, integrating AI cameras and intelligent control systems to serve plant care and monitoring on many types of terrain" won the Fourth Prize.
The project is implemented by two students Vu Xuan Thinh and Nguyen Hoang Anh, both in class 11A7, Ham Rong High School, under the guidance of teacher Le Nhat Truong Tuan.
The robot is designed to perform many tasks in agricultural production such as sowing seeds, spraying chemicals, watering, caring for and monitoring crops. The integration of artificial intelligence cameras and intelligent control systems helps the device to operate on many types of terrain.
The national-level scientific and technical research competition for secondary and high school students in the 2025-2026 school year has the participation of all 34 provinces and cities, with 242 projects in 21 fields.
The Organizing Committee selected and awarded prizes to 145 projects, including 14 first prizes, 29 second prizes, 44 third prizes and 58 fourth prizes. Some excellent projects were also selected to participate in the 2026 International Science and Technology Competition.
Along with achievements in scientific and technical research, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 25 students and 25 teachers with outstanding achievements at the 4th National High School National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival in 2026.
Among these, Le Hong Phong, class 12A2, Chu Van An High School, won one individual first prize and 3 consolation prizes for teammates.
Many students from Sam Son, Lang Chanh, Dao Duy Tu, Thieu Hoa, Yen Dinh 1, Trieu Son 1, Quang Xuong 1, Muong Lat, Tinh Gia 2, Cam Thuy 3 high schools and Ngoc Lac Ethnic Minority Boarding School were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their achievements in winning individual and team prizes at the sports festival.
