On March 20, the Command of Military Region 5 held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of National Defense on the establishment of the Central Military School. Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai Uy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Military Region 5; Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4.
According to the decision, the Military School of the Central Region under Military Region 5 was established to create a source of high-quality cadre training for the Army, meeting the requirements of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. The school is organized with a scale equivalent to a regiment level, enrolling students in Military Region 4 and Military Region 5, stationed in Quang Phu ward, Da Nang city.
The school has the function of nurturing and training young people who meet the standards of political qualities, ethics, health and qualifications; and at the same time organizing the teaching of general education programs from secondary school to high school according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, combining political education, military training and physical training. The boarding training model helps comprehensively manage students, link learning with activities, career orientation and create resources for academies and schools in the Army.
The enrollment targets are children of ethnic minorities, families with meritorious services to the revolution, families in difficult circumstances in Military Region 4 and Military Region 5, training international students from Laos and Cambodia according to the assigned targets annually.
According to the plan, the school will enroll in the general education system from grades 6 to 12, and international students will be enrolled from grades 10 to 12. Military Region 5 is assigned to coordinate with functional agencies to complete legal procedures, invest in facilities, and consolidate the staff and teachers to ensure enrollment from the 2026–2027 school year.
At the ceremony, Military Region 5 also announced the decision to award the Determined to Win Military Flag and the decision to establish the Party Committee of the Central Military School directly under the Party Committee of Military Region 5.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of Military Region 5, affirmed that the establishment of the school is an important policy in fostering and training the young generation, contributing to building high-quality human resources for the Army and the country. At the same time, he requested the school to quickly stabilize the organization and complete the conditions for the opening of the first course in September.
Emphasizing the development orientation, leaders of Military Region 5 requested the school to focus on innovating education methods in the direction of "learning with practice", promoting the application of science and technology and artificial intelligence in teaching and learning; maintaining regular routines, training discipline, physical fitness and military style, towards training citizens to develop comprehensively, have political bravery, knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period.
