According to the school, for the contents that require the support of parents, depending on the content such as: rewards for students, organizing movement activities for students, repairing toilets, etc., the school will submit a plan to ask parents for sponsorship to the Department of Education and Training (DET). When the Department considers approval and agrees, the school will have an open letter asking parents to sponsor each specific content on a voluntary basis, not forced.
"Class upon which students contribute services to activities in the class, homeroom teachers and the parent-teacher association should comply with the spirit of Circular 55 of the Ministry of Education and Training as voluntary, not equal, not forced, homeroom teachers should keep a list of voluntary contributions of the class if any," Mr. Do Dinh Dao - Principal of Nguyen Huu Tho High School informed.
According to Mr. Dao, all fees will be fully notified by the school and made public to parents and students. Homeroom teachers do not let the parent-teacher association arbitrarily implement the collection contents in the name of collection for the school or class. Teachers are requested to pay attention to and follow the content related to the movement of the parent-teacher association on the class's Zalo, Facebook groups... and immediately report to the school's board of directors if they discover any unusual content.
Previously, Nguyen Van Luong Secondary School (Binh Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) sent a notice to all parents of students about the school not collecting parents' funds and funding for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the school, there will be 4 non-compensation items including: No collection of operating expenses of the parent-teacher association; No collection of sponsorship funds; No mobilization to care for staff, teachers, and staff; No mobilization to purchase facilities for classes and schools.
