In addition to the form of student discipline, Circular 19/2025/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training also clearly stipulates forms of reward to recognize, commend, encourage, motivate and motivate students to practice, cultivate, strive, and improve in studying and life; at the same time, honor and replicate good examples and good deeds.
Accordingly, 5 forms of commendation include: Commendation before class, commendation before the whole school, certificates of merit from the principal, certificates of merit and other forms of commendation.
Circular 19 has removed specific titles and honorary boards from the list of official forms; at the same time, simplified procedures and forms, focused on implementing reward principles and complying with the provisions of the Law on Emulation and Commendation.
In which, a letter of commendation is a new form of reward, regulated as follows:
The letter of commendation is given to students with academic results, advanced training, outstanding performance or outstanding outstanding achievements.
Teachers, principals or management agencies, depending on the nature and level of achievements, decide whether to send letter of commendation to students.
In Article 6, the form of front-class commendation is applied to students with good behavior, creating a positive influence spread to friends in the class, or students with remarkable progress in studying and training. Teachers decide and organize the commendation at the appropriate time.
Students can also be commended by the whole school for their outstanding achievements, exemplary behavior, creating a positive impact in the student community, or achieving outstanding results in studying and practicing. The homeroom teacher suggested that the principal decide on this commendation.
Students can receive a certificate of merit from the principal according to detailed regulations on the implementation of the Law on Emulation and Commendation in the education sector. The homeroom teacher will base on the results of study, training and achievements of the students to make recommendations; the principal will decide, and at the same time organize the award ceremony solemnly and promptly to encourage and set an example.
In addition to the forms of commendation stipulated in Circular 19, agencies, organizations and individuals can apply other forms of commendation and reward, in accordance with legal regulations and associated with educational activities, to promptly encourage and motivate students with achievements.
For forms of commendation under the authority of the Law on Emulation and Commendation and other legal documents, principals are responsible for commendating students in front of the entire school and submitting them to the competent authority for consideration of commendation.
