At this time, most universities have announced their expected or official enrollment methods.
In Ho Chi Minh City, in addition to using many methods at the same time as in previous years, some schools adjusted in the direction of merging into one admission method but combining many criteria, such as high school graduation exam scores, transcript scores, competency assessment exam scores...
The diversification of admission methods by schools partly helps candidates have more choices. Many candidates have simultaneously participated in many separate exams to increase their chances of admission.

Chung Ngoc Quyen, a student at Hung Vuong High School, said that she had taken the first round of competency assessment exam and is expected to continue to register for the second round of exam to get results for admission to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Quyen, taking additional exams outside of high school graduation helps her accumulate experience and have more choices when applying.
Meanwhile, To Tri Nguyen, a 12th grade student in Vuon Lai ward, said that besides the high school graduation exam, he also registered for the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and the V-SAT exam organized at the University of Finance - Marketing.
The results from these exams will be considered by me to be used for admission to Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Tri Nguyen, taking many exams does not cause too much pressure because the review content is mostly still within the general education program. He proactively reviews in parallel, combining studying in class with self-study through online platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and also practicing at home.
However, Tri Nguyen determined that the high school graduation exam is still the main goal with the D14 combination (Literature, English, History), so he focused a lot of time on these three subjects. The remaining exams are mainly for testing and adding more admission opportunities.
Having many exams helps us have more opportunities, but also requires a clear study plan so as not to be overloaded. If we firmly grasp the background knowledge, we can adapt to different types of questions," Tri Nguyen shared.
According to the 2026 enrollment regulations, higher education institutions are not allowed to use more than 5 admission methods.
In addition, candidates can register a maximum of 15 aspirations and need to reach a minimum threshold of 15 points from the high school graduation exam to be considered for university admission.
