According to Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM), as of the deadline for registration on April 25, the capacity assessment (V-ACT) exam phase 2 of 2026 of VNU-HCM has 172,622 registered candidates, of which 169,935 candidates have completed fees.
Of which, 109,957 candidates took the first phase of the exam and 59,978 candidates only registered for the second phase of the exam. Compared to the same period in 2025 (97,387 candidates), the number of registrations this year increased by 77.25%.
In 2026, VNU-HCM continues to organize the V-ACT exam with 2 phases, while expanding the scope of organization to create favorable conditions for candidates. Phase 2 is expected to take place on May 24 in many provinces and cities such as Thua Thien Hue, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Dong Thap and An Giang.
Faced with the increasing demand for exams, VNU-HCM has coordinated with universities and colleges to add exam sites, raising the total number of localities organizing phase 2 to 15 provinces and cities after the merger.
Candidates are allowed to adjust exam locations and complete payment until the end of April 27. The school reminds candidates to check and update accurate personal information to avoid arising problems.
VNU-HCM said it is coordinating with relevant units to prepare facilities and personnel to ensure the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.
Previously, the first phase of the exam took place on April 5 with 133,489 candidates participating, reaching a participation rate of 98.33%.
After 8 years of implementation, the capacity assessment exam of VNU-HCM has become an important enrollment method, currently more than 110 higher education institutions use the results for admission consideration.
