Many changes in exam questions and exam methods
In 2025, it was the first year to organize the exam under the Mondic Education Program (GDPT) 2018. The special feature of this year's exam is that at the same time organized for both candidates: Candidates taking the exam under the 2018 Education and Training Program and candidates under the 2006 Education Program (about 25,000 candidates).
Many new points are officially applied from this exam, such as reducing the number of subjects, changing the exam structure, questions are built in the direction of assessing students' abilities and increasing the application of knowledge in practice, etc.
A notable new point of the exam is that in addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, candidates choose two subjects from the optional subjects studied in grade 12. This change requires schools to have a plan to organize teaching and review in accordance with the career orientation of students, and also sets higher requirements for exam preparation, exam review and marking.
Informing about the new points related to the exam, Professor Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, said that in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training will convert the exam to format A3 to help printing more conveniently, minimizing risks due to reduced page count.
"With the examination room for candidates under the 2006 Education Program, printed 24 exam codes (usually 4-5 A4 sheets). With the exam room for candidates according to the 2018 Education and Training Program, only print enough candidates in the exam room. Atlat is not new.
Prepare early, from afar, do not be subjective in all situations
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong set the requirement that the work of exam review, exam room arrangement, finding questions, printing exam questions and organizing exams must be carried out synchronously and effectively.
Mr. Thuong said that localities must be very proactive, ensuring security and safety should be given top priority.
According to the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, if you prepare carefully, early, from afar, without any work, without leaving any gaps, all work will be optimal. In particular, inspection and examination work is also extremely important, the main goal is proactive prevention. Along with that, focus on post-inspections, inspections of unusual issues, inspections when necessary...
He reiterated the "4 correct", "3 no" viewpoint, in which, "4 correct" is: correct exam regulations and instructions; correct and complete procedures; correct assigned position, position and responsibility; correct time to promptly handle unusual situations and incidents;
"3 no's" is: Not negligent, subjective; not stressed, over-pressured; not arbitrarily handling unusual situations and incidents, which has been thoroughly grasped in organizing the 2024 high school graduation exam and emphasized that this is still the spirit of the 2025 exam.
At the same time, it is also mentioned that "2 promotions" need to be done well in this year's exam, which is to promote the sense of responsibility and professional expertise of the steering force, the force participating in organizing the exam and promote self-awareness, complying with the regulations of candidates.
"It is necessary to especially foresee and carefully review, detailing all possible situations. Just a small negligence of the exam preparation staff or an intentional violation by candidates can seriously affect the entire organization of the exam that has been carefully prepared by the education sector" - Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27, with two exam schedules for candidates studying under the new and old programs. The 2025 high school graduation exam scores were announced on July 16, one day earlier than last year. Last year, about 99.4% of more than a million candidates passed the graduation exam, the highest rate since 2015.
