The entrance exam for grade 10 public high school for the 2025-2026 school year in Hanoi will take place on June 7 and 8; students registering to enter grade 10 high schools will take exams on specialized subjects on June 9.
To participate in the 10th grade entrance exam of public high schools, each candidate must take three independent exams including Math, Literature, and Foreign Language.
The 2025-2026 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi is expected to have nearly 110,000 candidates registering to take the exam. The city plans to arrange 210 exam locations with more than 4,500 exam rooms.
Hanoi has assigned 10th grade enrollment targets for the 2025-2026 school year to schools. Notably, the rate of enrollment targets for grade 10 public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year will reach 64%, an increase of 3% compared to the previous year.
This is the first year that the whole industry has implemented the regulations on junior high school and high school admissions issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on December 30, 2024 with Circular No. 30/TT-BGDDT.
Implementing the new regulations, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam scores for candidates' subjects and the admission scores for grade 10 of each high school on the same day.
It is expected that no later than July 6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the exam scores and the benchmark scores for grade 10.
Like every year, the benchmark scores for grade 10 of each high school in Hanoi are usually announced a few days after the exam scores are announced.
The announcement of these two data on the same day helps reduce the waiting pressure of students and their families, but also poses many challenges in organization work because the number of students attending the Hanoi exam is large.
