On May 1, the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) cross-border cycling event took place, attracting more than 500 athletes from the two countries to participate. Starting from Son Hai Tuong Lien Iconic Square (Truc Son village, Dong Hung) to Tra Co - Binh Ngoc Tourism symbol and ending at Mui Sa Vi, Tra Co ward, Mong Cai city.

Mong Cai City also announced an water recreation area at Tra Co National Tourist Area. Water sports activities such as water motorbikes, banana buoys, flying buoys and kayaking have created a vibrant entertainment space for visitors.

In addition, Mong Cai also organizes cultural and artistic events such as the art program "Mong Cai - Rising in the new era", Mong Cai Tourism - Cuisine Festival in 2025, Vietnam - China culinary exchange program and the Festival of dance teams and dance groups.
The attraction of new tourism products has helped Mong Cai tourism grow impressively during the three holidays. From April 30 to May 2, 2025, Mong Cai City welcomed over 249,242 visitors (an increase of 61% over the same period last year).
Destinations attracting tourists include Mong Cai International Border Gate, walking street, Tran Phu ward food area, Mong Cai Central Market, Sa Vi Border Cheering Information Cluster, Vinh Thuc island, Tra Co - Binh Ngoc beach, Xa Tac temple, Tra Co communal house, Tra Co church and Po Hen historical relic site.
Mr. Vu Tuan Anh - Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Mong Cai City - said: "These new tourism activities and products are the foundation for Mong Cai to develop long-term tourism, enhance experience and aim to build a dynamic and integrated border city. Mong Cai tourism in the coming time will continue to maintain service quality, protect the environment, landscape and create more attractive tourism products to create a memorable impression for tourists".
With the number of visitors increasing by 61% over the same period, Mong Cai City is getting closer to the goal of welcoming 4.8 million visitors in 2025, affirming its position as an attractive destination on the Vietnam tourism map.
