The Department of Education and Training has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of wards and communes; educational institutions under the Department of Education and Training on proactively responding to severe cold and frost at educational institutions.

In order to strengthen proactive response to the weather situation in the coming time, the Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct educational institutions in the area; educational institutions under the Department to continue to propagate and disseminate knowledge to officials, teachers, staff, students, and parents about the harmful effects of cold weather on students' health; common winter diseases and effective cold prevention and control measures.
Based on the weather forecast information at 7:45 PM daily on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television, principals and heads of educational institutions proactively decide not to let students go to school directly, notify parents and have appropriate online teaching plans, specifically:
Preschool and elementary school students should not go directly to school when the weather forecast is below 10°C;
Secondary school students do not come to study directly at school when the weather forecast temperature is below 7°C. In case parents, for force majeure reasons, do not have conditions to look after their children at home, the school needs to coordinate with parents to have a plan to welcome and organize student management at school to ensure safety.
The Department of Education and Training requests that, on days of severe cold and frost, educational institutions do not organize outdoor student gathering activities and implement appropriate study time adjustments.
In the process of organizing implementation, if there are difficulties or obstacles, units should inform and report to the Department of Education and Training for guidance.
