The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Official Letter No. 10389 on preparing for the organization of boarding meals for students at schools in the city for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the content of the document, to ensure food quality and safety in school boarding kitchens, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City Food Safety Steering Committee - assigned the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with the Departments of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment and related units to urgently research and develop a set of criteria to select units providing meals and food processing ingredients for boarding kitchens.
The Department of Health is assigned to propose the establishment of a Council for appraisal and assessment of the capacity of food supply enterprises, advise and report to the City People's Committee before July 9, 2025.
Based on the criteria agreed upon by the City People's Committee, the Department of Health will officially announce and organize the reception of registration documents of food suppliers and food processing ingredients for meals for the 2025-2026 school year.
The reception and completion of the list of qualified units must be completed before July 18, 2025, creating a basis for schools to proactively implement the organization of boarding meals right from the beginning of the new school year.
