The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has announced a plan to implement university and college admissions in 2026, requiring training institutions to complete the announcement of admission information on the training institution's website on February 15, 2026, usually around March, earlier than previous years.
This timeline is different from the previous requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training at the Higher Education Conference in mid-September 2025, requiring universities to announce the admission method for 2026 in October 2025.
In fact, only a few schools have announced the expected admission information, there is no official information yet.
University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Thang - Head of Training Department said that the main admission method of the school in 2026 is still expected to be general admission.
"If any, the adjustments will be technical factors such as the coefficient for calculating component scores and plus points," Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Thang informed.
The comprehensive admission method is also expected to be used by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry in 2026.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Head of Training Department said that the component scores of the comprehensive admission method include: high school graduation exam scores, competency assessment, academic records and other outstanding achievements.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, MSc. Pham Thai Son - Director of the Admissions and Communications Center said that the school basically maintains stable admission methods as in 2025.
Similarly, the University of Finance - Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education also plans to maintain stable admission methods. If any changes are announced after the Ministry of Education and Training issues the 2026 enrollment regulations.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine plans to increase quotas, open new majors and medical training programs in 2026.
Accordingly, the school plans to have more resuscitation anesthesiology techniques. In addition, the Medical major has an additional English enhancement program.
In 2026, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine plans to have 3 admission methods including: high school graduation exam; direct admission according to admission regulations; using other methods.
