On September 19, a representative of the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward (Hanoi) said that they had directed the Ward Police and the Department of Culture and Social Affairs to coordinate with Dai Kim Secondary School to verify the case of a 7th grade male student who had inappropriate behavior and physically impacted a teacher.
Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on September 16, during the transition period. At this time, teacher T.T.T.H - homeroom teacher of class 7A14 - entered the class to remind the students.
While the teacher was reminding her, she saw T.M.Tr - the class monitor - holding a sharp toy, so she asked the student to give it to her and said she would confiscate it because this was a dangerous toy, which was banned in the school's rules.
When Ms. H finished speaking, student L.G.B stood up and asked Ms. H to return her toys, but the teacher was determined not to return them.
The male student did not agree, grabbed her hand and asked for it back but was refused, then grabbed her hair and pushed her, causing Ms. H to fall. Some students tried to stop him. The incident was recorded by a camera.
Immediately afterwards, Ms. H reported to the Board of Directors. The principal and teachers worked directly with the students, and reported to the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward. The ward police have stepped in to verify.
A representative of the Ward People's Committee said that after the incident, the school, Ms. H and the student's family had a meeting. Student B and the students witnessed the report. The family temporarily let their children stay home from school for a psychological check-up and apologized to the teacher.
"At the meeting between the parties, the family and student G.B apologized to Ms. H for the above inappropriate behavior. Because the child is still young, the school's viewpoint is to prioritize education, giving children the opportunity to know their mistakes and correct their mistakes," said a representative of the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward.
The People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward is continuing to direct the parties to handle according to regulations.
