Phenikaa University Graduates Full-Dctature Scholarship in Singapore

On November 9, Phenikaa University held a 2025 graduation ceremony for 1,021 new PhDs, masters, bachelor's, engineers, and pharmacists. Among them, there is 1 university valedictorian, 21 industry valedictorians, 15 excellent graduates and 169 excellent graduates.

Le Ba Luat, a student of the 15th course of Computer Science, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, School of Information Technology, Phenikaa University, is the valedictorian of the entire school this year. Luat was also one of the students honored for outstanding academic and research achievements at the ceremony on the morning of November 9.

Before entering university, Luat was a student at a specialized school, won the national second prize for best student in Mathematics and was eligible for direct admission to many major universities in Vietnam. However, the male student was determined to choose Phenikaa University - because "he saw the enthusiasm of the teachers and the dynamic and creative environment that the school brought".

Right from the first year, the Law was oriented according to the research path and started with the competition program, participating in the Vietnam Student Informatics and ICPC Olympics, then switching to operational Research - the field of applying toancs to solve optimal problems in practice.

To date, the Law has had 6 scientific research works published in international seminars and specialized journals as the main authors.

Sharing about his learning journey, Luat said that before enrolling, he had a solid foundation in Math, but lacked knowledge of IT and programming. Therefore, the Law spends time self-study to prepare for the new major.

Before entering school, I spent a few months learning basic programming. When I started studying, I didn't spend much time on subjects in class, I could spend time researching" - Luat said.

The Law is guided by many lecturers of the school and this early orientation helps the Law quickly integrate into the research environment. The male student completed the program earlier than expected. After studying for more than 2 and a half years, Luat went to Singapore to work at the University of Management Singapore for more than half a year, then returned to Vietnam to complete his graduation project.

Currently, Luat has received a full scholarship for his doctorate in Singapore, including living expenses, under the scholarship of the visiting professor with whom he has collaborated.

Advising new students of Phenikaa University, the male student said that the research path can start early, but the important thing is to know how to balance between studying in class and research. In addition, the biggest difference of university level is that students are free to choose their development direction, but also need to take responsibility for their own choices. Therefore, each student should find a teacher who can guide and inspire them.

The tour guide is very important, they help me see a long-term path and dig deeper into my favorite field" - Luat shared.

The law believes that the honoring ceremony on November 9 is not only a milestone to end the student's life but also opens a new journey on the research path. He said he will continue to pursue the field of transportation and hopes to return to Vietnam in the future to contribute to applied research projects.

Phenikaa has given me many opportunities to be a different person. If I could choose again, I would still choose this environment said the Law.

At the graduation ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Director of Phenikaa University expressed his hope that after this graduation ceremony, the new bachelors will enter the world with the knowledge and skills that have been well equipped, the courage that have been cultivated over the years and most importantly, the guidance of teachers and the love of their families.
