Son La Hydropower Plant opens a bottom spillway to regulate reservoir

Son La - At 4:00 p.m. on November 9, Son La Hydropower Company opened a bottom spillway to regulate the lake's water level.

According to the update at 12:00 on the same day, the lake's water level was at 216.31m; the water flow to the lake was 845 m3/s; the engine flow was 223 m3/s.

It is forecasted that when opening a bottom spillway, the flow to the lake will be about 1,426 m3/s, the maximum engine flow will be 2,200 m3/s, the overflow will be 1,840 m3/s, the total discharge will be 4,040 m3/s.

Son La Hydropower Company recommends that people and vehicles operating along the Da River, the area of boat docks, fish ponds, temporary bridges and low-lying areas of Muong La, Chieng Hoa, Muong Bu communes in Son La province urgently move out of the dangerous area, and at the same time follow the instructions of local authorities to ensure safety.
