Statistics from Lao Dong show that the competition ratio in the specialized school group is absolutely dominant. Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted leads the whole city with a ratio of up to 1/7.13 - which means an average of more than 7 candidates competing for a scholarship.
Followed by Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted with a ratio of 1/4.8; Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted about 1/3.35 and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted with a competition ratio of 1/2.52.
In the non-specialized block, data shows that up to 24 schools have a competition ratio of 2 or more. Leading this group is Bui Thi Xuan High School with a competition ratio of 1/2.84, followed by Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (1/2.79), Thu Duc High School (1/2.57).
In addition, a series of other schools also have competition levels above 2 such as Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (1/2.51), Le Trong Tan High School (1/2.45), Mac Dinh Chi High School and Nguyen Huu Huan High School (both about 1/2.35), Di An High School (1/2.34), Trinh Hoai Duc High School (1/2.32), University of Education Practice High School and Le Quy Don High School (both about 1/2.31), Tran Van On High School (1/2.25), Luong The Vinh High School (1/2.24), Phu Nhuan High School (1/2.22)...

In the opposite direction, the number of schools with a competition ratio below 1 is quite large. Statistics show that more than 40 schools fall into this group, meaning the number of candidates registering for nguyện vọng 1 is lower than the enrollment quota.
Some schools have very low competition rates such as Nguyen Van Linh High School (1/0.18), Nguyen Van Tang High School (1/0.25), Ngo Gia Tu High School (1/0.26) or Tran Huu Trang High School (1/0.29)... These are also groups of schools with low competition rates in 2025.
With this competitive level, it is likely that schools will have to continue to recruit additional students to meet the quota.
The above reality shows a significant difference in the level of interest of students between schools. Schools with low competition rates are mostly located in suburban areas, far from the center.
