On October 22, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune (Quang Tri province) announced that it had issued a decision to continue suspending Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue - Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, the person in charge of the boarding kitchen, from work for 15 days due to the case of 40 students hospitalized for suspected food poisoning.
The suspension extension period starts from October 23.
According to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, the extension of the suspension was carried out because many parents did not agree to let Ms. Hue return to work when the case was still under investigation, and there was no official conclusion from the authorities.
Previously, the school coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to hold a meeting with all parents of 75 boarding students to discuss the work of reorganizing the kitchen. At the meeting, many parents suggested that the authorities continue to suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue's work until the investigation results are clear, in order to ensure the safety of students.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of September 26, 40 students of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities had to be hospitalized for emergency care after breakfast due to suspected food poisoning. Test results from the Pasteur Nha Trang Institute showed that 1 of the 4 food samples was positive for Bacillus cereus bacteria, the cause of acute food poisoning.
