This is to ensure that schools, teachers, parents, and students in the city feel secure in teaching and orienting learning and reviewing in the first school year after the merger.
In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to choose Literature, Math and Foreign Language as the 3 subjects for the 10th grade entrance exam.
It is expected that this October, the Department will issue a test structure for each entrance exam subject. Based on that, schools and teachers will develop a teaching plan and review orientation for students according to the matrix, structure, and assessment level of the exam in each subject.
"In each entrance exam subject, it is expected that the basic exam will have 60% knowledge at the recognition and understanding level and 40% knowledge at the high level of application and application. The subjects still follow the orientation of testing students' ability to apply knowledge, applying subject knowledge to solve practical problems in life around them, meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program", the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City informed.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has about 150,000 grade 9 students studying at Secondary Schools.
