Ho Chi Minh City continues to wait for supplementary textbooks for students to borrow

Chân Phúc |

Ho Chi Minh City - After reviewing the needs, many schools have provided textbooks for students to borrow, while some schools are still waiting for suppliers to deliver enough books.

On September 20, at Phuoc Long High School, Ms. Vu Thi Hong Chau - Principal of the school - said that after surveying, about 300 students registered to borrow textbooks. However, to date, the school has not received enough books to supply to students.

According to Ms. Chau, the school has registered the list of books with the supplier. While waiting for books, the school guides students to use electronic textbooks.

The school is waiting for the book supplier to coordinate and will distribute it to students as soon as it is received," Ms. Chau said.

At Hiep Tan Elementary School, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet - Principal of the school - said that it is expected that books will be issued to students in early October. While waiting, teachers will send electronic book links for parents and students to refer to.

According to Ms. Minh Nguyet, most students have equipped themselves with books, so the fact that some students do not have books right at the beginning of the year does not significantly affect teaching and learning. Teachers can flexibly organize group activities, let students share books or change learning forms.

Meanwhile, at Binh Tho Secondary School, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Principal - said that the number of students registering to borrow books is not large, about 35 students. Right in the first week of the school year, the school received enough books and completed the distribution to students in need.

According to Ms. Anh Thu, the school proactively coordinates with relevant units to urge the supply of books. The number of students registering to borrow is not high because many parents have proactively prepared books for their children in advance.

At Tran Van On Secondary School, school leaders said that they have received some books and immediately distributed the existing books to students.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the unit has summarized the demand for textbooks and sent them to Vietnam Education Publishing House through Phuong Nam Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company from March 4.

By September 8, Vietnam Education Publishing House had supplied more than 26.9 million copies of textbooks, reaching 107% of the registered demand.

According to the Department, most schools have booked books or have plans to ensure books for students. Up to now, 100% of schools have finalized the actual needs for the 2nd time, registered to buy additional quantities that are missing or completed order procedures. The amount of textbooks compiled and ordered by educational institutions according to actual needs is being urgently transported and handed over directly to each school.

While waiting for enough books, parents and students can use free electronic textbooks provided by Vietnam Education Publishing House at taphuan. nxbgd. vn.

Teachers also proactively use teaching aids such as electronic lectures, worksheets, knowledge summary materials... to ensure that teaching and learning are not interrupted, helping students fully absorb the content of lessons in class.

In the 2026-2027 school year, Ho Chi Minh City implements a policy of free textbooks according to the actual borrowing needs of students. Schools organize for students to borrow books at libraries and return them after the end of the school year.
