On the evening of November 19, Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to honor outstanding teachers in the cause of building, innovating, developing education and training in Ho Chi Minh City (term 1975-2025) and awarded the Vo Truong Toan Award in 2025.
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - said that since the 6th National Party Congress in 1986 until now, in addition to other fields, the city's education has constantly innovated and been creative, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as meeting the standards of universal education - eliminating illiteracy; maintaining mass and spearhead training results in the group of leading localities nationwide; prioritizing the development of an environment to nurture excellent students, gifted students and train talents...
These achievements are thanks to the close leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee and the Government, the support of provinces and cities across the country, and especially the solidarity and consensus of the Party Committee, government, and people of the city and the enthusiasm and responsibility of many generations of leaders and teachers through the ages.
"The 50 typical examples honored today all gather in common: love for the profession, aspiration to contribute and a sense of responsibility in the cause of educating people. These are teachers with pure moral qualities and high prestige; pioneers in innovating educational management, teaching methods and testing and evaluation; have made many outstanding contributions, leaving a deep impression in the development of education and training in the city since 1975 until now", Ms. Thuy emphasized.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, today's ceremony is not only a recognition and gratitude for the great contributions of outstanding teachers, but also a message to the younger generation: following the example of dedication, enthusiasm, living with ideals, responsibility, and aspiring to rise up; united, unanimously, and joining hands to build Ho Chi Minh City to develop; pioneering with the whole country to enter a new era - the era of national growth.
At the ceremony, 9 teachers and managers were honored to receive the Labor Medal awarded by the President.

The Vo Truong Toan Award in 2025 will be awarded to 50 teachers who are teaching at preschools, general education institutions, specialized schools (except for guest lecturers); and educational management staff at general education institutions, continuing education centers, vocational education - continuing education centers, specialized schools and specialized education staff at specialized departments of the Department, cultural and social departments of wards, communes, and special zones.
Each cadre and teacher is only considered for the award once during their work. The award aims to spread good and creative educational methods and models, creating trust in the school's pedagogical community and the trust and respect of parents and students.
