On the afternoon of October 6, Ms. Chu Thi Hoai Thuong (residing in Huong Xuan commune) was upset and said that her nephew, Le Van Manh (13 years old, studying in class 8A8, Chu Van An Secondary School) was injured by a group of friends on the way home from school at noon the same day with many swollen wounds and bruises on both arms.
After the incident, Ms. Thuong took Manh to Huong Khe Medical Center for hospitalization.
According to Ms. Thuong, Manh's parents worked in the South, so the family sent him to Ms. Thuong (Thuong took care of Manh's younger brother).
This afternoon (October 6), Manh returned to school later than usual. When the child returned home and saw swelling and bruising in both hands, she asked, and Manh said that he was stopped and beaten by a group of friends on his way home.

Through the incident, Ms. Thuong hopes that the school and the police will step in to clarify and handle the situation of violence against students, while deterring and protecting them, avoiding the situation where Manh continues to be threatened and beaten by the other group of friends when he goes to school.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the homeroom teacher of class 8A8 at Chu Van An Secondary School said that she was working with the school's Board of Directors, representing Manh's family to clarify the incident of the student being beaten.
It is also unclear whether the group that beat Manh was a student at Chu Van An Secondary School or not, and what caused the beating.
