The above information was informed by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Ha - Head of Public and Business Relations Department, University of Mining and Geology at the 2025 Enrollment Consulting Festival on March 16.

According to Mr. Ha, this year, the number of students enrolled in the University of Mining and Geology is more than 3,000 students, an increase compared to last year.
The school enrolls 58 training majors, including 6 new majors: English Language, Chinese Language, Materials Engineering, Space Engineering, Urban and Construction Management; Mineral Resources Management.
"The school's opening of new majors is based on surveys of stakeholders, especially practical job position needs, meeting the development of the economy and society" - Mr. Ha explained.
Regarding admission methods, Mr. Ha informed that the school has made some small adjustments.
Specifically, the school uses the results of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment, in addition to the thinking assessment test score of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In the method of considering academic records, candidates must have passed a good or higher conduct test, with a total average score of three subjects according to the combination of 6 semesters. The average score of subjects according to the exam block of 6 semesters must be 18 points or more. Last year, the school only considered the scores of three semesters.
According to the draft 2025 enrollment plan of the University of Mining and Geology, there are 5 enrollment methods applied by the school, including:
Admission based on high school graduation exam results;
Consider candidates with international certificates, academic capacity records;
Direct admission of excellent students based on high school results, excellent students at national and international levels;
Using the results of the thinking assessment of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the results of the competency assessment test of Hanoi National University;
Admission is based on high school academic results.
Last year, the University of Mining and Geology enrolled more than 2,200 students. The Control and Automation Engineering major has the highest benchmark score of 24.5.
