Accordingly, the direct admission and priority admission methods are implemented according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, accounting for about 1% of the total enrollment target. Subjects applied according to current enrollment regulations.
In addition, the school applies a combined admission method for candidates who have graduated from high school or are expected to graduate in 2026.
The formula for calculating admission scores according to the general principle is as follows:
Admission score (ĐXT) = k1 x High school exam score (converted) + k2 x Academic competency assessment exam score (converted) + k3 x Academic transcript score (converted) + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (if any).
In which:
The admission score scale is 100.
High school exam score (converted) = Total score of 3 subjects in the 2026 High School Graduation Exam according to the combination converted to a 100-point scale.
ĐGNL exam score (converted) = ĐGNL exam score of VNU-HCM in 2026 converted to a 100-point scale.
Academic transcript score (converted) = The average score for the whole year of 3 subjects in the combination converted to a 100-point scale.
A bonus point (English certificate, excellent student awards at all levels, scientific research awards at all levels...) is converted to a 100-point scale.
Subject priority points, regional priority points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training are converted to a scale of 100.
In addition, candidates may receive bonus points if they have international English certificates such as IELTS or equivalent certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates who win excellent student awards at all levels, scientific research awards or achievements in some other prestigious exams are also considered for bonus points.
For training majors in joint training programs with foreign countries, the International University requires admission foreign language proficiency:
Candidates must have an international English certificate equivalent to at least IELTS 5.5, or must have a minimum level of level 4 according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used for Vietnam or an English level equivalent to B2 according to the European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
For candidates who do not meet the English certificate according to the above standards, they will be admitted on conditional basis. If students enroll, they must participate in the entrance English exam organized by the school.
Conditionally admitted students must study English on their own or attend English refresher courses organized by the School. Conditionally admitted students must meet the entrance English standards within a maximum of 12 months from the time of the admission decision. After this time, students who do not meet the English requirements will be excluded from the program.
